Our Spanish Residential Clinic “La Chaparrosa” is Opening in May 2010.
Set on a mountain in beautiful countryside of the Castilla la Mancha province it offers an ideal holistic retreatAt Meridian Health we pride our selves on being really holistic in our approach to natural health care.
With in this approach we use Energy Healing in several different forms, These include, Computer Screening, Qi Gong, several different forms of Healing, Self Healing, Nutrition, Meditation & Visualisation, E.F.T. N.L.P. Astrology, etc.
For over thirty years we have cared for people in this way, learning and growing all the time. We mix ancient knowledge with modern technology to analyse and treat our clients, and we aim to teach our clients how to care for themselves through diet, exercise to suit the individual, meditation, and other methods depending on the individual needs of our client’s. Our main clinic was based in Devon but we hold mobile clinics through out Europe.
In 2004 we decided that we would like to add a facility for residential care. That proved harder than we thought, mainly because of the cost. It would have cost us nearly £2,000,000 to set up and run for the first two years in England, and that was far above our means. Also this would have meant that our charges to our guest’s would have had to be higher, and therefore making it too expensive for most people.
So we looked elsewhere. After several months and over 5,000 miles touring France and Spain we found, “La Chaparrosa.”
Nestled in the beautiful pine covered mountains, in the Castilla la Mancha province of Rural Spain, surrounded by conservation land, with amazing panoramic views was, La Chaparrosa a ruined Spanish Finca (farm house) which came with 94 acres of its own mountain side. We both felt that we had come home and the price was affordable. It did mean lots of work, but we both have lots of experience of re-build projects, are fit and healthy and not daunted by the prospect of a few years hard work.
By 2007 we had bought our mountain, managed to get through all the planning, licences,etc, etc, and were ready to go. It took longer than we hoped to sell our health shop business but finally in June 2008 it was sold.
We can actually reach La Chaparrosa quicker and at less cost than travelling to our Scottish clinic. The closest village to La Chaparrosa, Riopar is approximately 4 kilometre’s down the mountain. Riopar is one and a half hours inland from Alicante approximately 170 km towards Madrid, which is approximately 250 km further on.
Below are some views of the ruins that we have bought and shows the colour of the stone we will be using in the build of the clinic. We intend to use as much natural, local and eco friendly materials as is possible to build the clinic. We also intend to use natural solar and wind power, with our on own spring water supply.
We have permission for a six double bedroom guest house, which will include a massive kitchen, with room to teach our client’s how to prepare their own healthy food, several treatment rooms, a restaurant to seat up to 75, two massive conference / teaching rooms so that we can run courses, teach Qi Gong and also have groups for workshops etc. The second phase will be ten wooden cabins dotted around the mountain. This will enable us to offer holistic styled holidays for families or groups where only some of the guests may like treatments.
We intend to create several different types of garden areas, and meditation areas on the mountain, a natural salt water pool for swimming and lots of interesting meandering paths for walks. Also open areas for Qi Gong / Tai Chi / Yoga practice etc. Gary also intends to qualify so as to be able to offer power gliding from the top of the mountain down to the valley.
There are plenty of beautiful places to visit close by, waterfalls, historical buildings mountains etc.

At La Chaparrosa we aim to teach everyone to find and accept their true selves, to overcome any health problems, and to understand any physical, mental or spiritual issues they might have. You will learn techniques to enable you to cope with the stress that comes with modern life. What foods are good for your very personal needs, and which ones could cause you a problem.
Because it will take a while to complete the whole project we will be able to offer accommodation in Yurts for our clients, or and if friends or other people would like to come and stay or help we will also have several tent’s and two mobile homes available. In Riopar, which is actually a holiday destination for the Spanish, there are lots of cabins which are let out at extremely reasonable cost. Also several lovely hotels.

A stay at La Chaparrosa wil be a truly life changing experience. We will be offering several different treatments which will depend on your individual needs.
There will also be classes and workshops in Healing, Meditation, QiGong, Dowsing, Visualising, Cooking/food preparation and lots more. These will all be inclusive in the cost.
